I washed the outside and did gel coat repair today. There were just a few dings that I wanted to fill. I have gelcoat cleaner/restorer/wax to put on as soon as I sand down the repairs. The outside cleaned up nicely. I think the top might need new
paint, but I'm going to wax and see how it does.
I also got all the paperwork sent off to the California DMV. Tuesday I called the Sheriff's dept., they sent a message to the guy here on the south end, and he called me half an hour later and said he'd be over around noon. He verified the
VIN number (form number 1) for me. Then I had two more DMV forms (application for
registration, and statement of facts (why I can't drag it over to the DMV) and fees (sales tax, and PTI) and sent it off. Now we'll see what happens!
I took a good look at the cushions. The vinyl is in great condition and a nice color. The cushions seem to be good, too, so I think I'm going to try sleeping on them before replacing the fabric side. (I don't want to recover the existing cushions and then decide I need new ones.)
I still haven't picked out fabric for curtains/color scheme but I'm driving up to Anacortes Saturday and will check out a fabric store there. (Most of what is here on the island is very expensive quilt shop type fabric.) Once I pick out fabric I can
paint the woodwork.
I need to figure out a way to put some handles on the sliding
windows. There is nothing to grab hold of to open the
windows. I think maybe I can just epoxy some handles on?
