Can the Toyota Sienna handle a Scamp 16

Anybody towing a Scamp 16 with a Toyota Sienna? I have a 2011 Toyota Sienna LE with the 3.5 L motor. Apparently it does not have the tow package.
Am I asking too much to pull the Trailer across country and over mountains? Anyone else using a Sienna that can provide some input?
Thanks!

Good day Josh.... For years Sienna's have proven to be very good tow vehicles. There is a good article on line that compares the Sienna's towing capabilities to the Toyota Sequoia SUV.

Many are using them here on this forum to tow Fiberglass eggs. Over on other RV forum's there are 100's of folks using Sienna's to tow trailers. Very few of them are towing trailer's as small as a 16' Scamp.

Based on that one could conclude that your thoughts of towing the 16' is reasonable. The key is getting the connection hardware and set up right.

You would want to look into what Toyota includes in the tow package, and add as much of that stuff as you reasonably can. Especially if the package had more cooling for the tranny. That is important for your vehicle's longevity.

Once you have it appropriately equipped, the Sienna should be a good tow vehicle. The same 3.5L is in my Highlander, and it gets a 5000 lb tow rating in the HL. Scamp 16's tend to not be overly heavy on the tongue, so that will count in your favor with the Sienna's rear suspension. I would suggest an Andersen No-Sway hitch with that rig, as a few Scamp 16 owners have reported some sway-ish movements... perhaps due to the tongue being relatively light as it is.
