Please advise soonest-
I live in a Border State and may well encounter a Canadian at any moment
Thanks in advance!
Hi Francesca, I hope you are sarcastic...
Some fear to hear FRENCH instead of English (I heard that from an old B&B owner I met in Philadelphia) ... but seriously, statistics show that USA is far more dangerous than Canada in many ways. Just look at Canada Firearm Death Rates and Ownership vs United States Firearm Death Rates an...
There is simply 13 times as many guns in USA than in Canada per 100,000 people of population and it shows. Handguns and assault weapons are very rare in Canada compared to USA. Laws are far more restrictive and relative risk is far greater in US to be shot dead.
I can see US citizens being terrified and shocked at the idea they might have to speak Spanish to work... I was surprised to find out when George W Bush got elected he had NEVER got a passport and ignored the name of the Prime Minister of Canada. This is one thing to fear learning another language, but it is sad to act as if the only country in the world was USA, and as if USA was and will only be English speaking.
Now it is time to be scared... I will continue in French (my native language).
Bonne journée !
