Chicken Tax

Looks like the chicken tax may be repealed. It's part of the trade talks. (25% import truck tax.)

I'm guessing that if it is true there will not be one cent reduction in MSRP on anything sold in the U.S.

There are too many here averse to the truth so...,But...

Hey! Maybe I can get a new Ranger!! NAHH!!

The Chicken tax was almost a joke! Germany taxed Chickens from the U.S. The U.S. Put a 25% tax on trucks with beds attached. The value of VW trucks was equal to the value of chickens going their way.

Ford, GM, Chrysler, Toyota and others Japanese manufactures imported trucks got past the tax by importing trucks without beds, then installing beds in the U.S. Subaru got around it by importing the BRAT with seats welded in the bed. The later VW Rabbit base trucks were built in Lima, Ohio.
The Chicken Tax is not keeping Ford Rangers out of this market, Ford does not want to provide a lower profit competition for their F150.
