Christmas Stuff

Transferring/packing the gear from my Trillium to the Bigfoot and I have to carry all my Christmas decorations, just to use them for a few days down south.

I lived in a 24' travel trailer for 4 years a long time ago. My Christmas decorations were only a little bigger: a 9" table top tree and a small handmade Mexican Nativity. I enjoyed collecting miniature ornaments for the tree, all permanently attached so no set-up.

It's not about the decorations, anyway! Cool!

My trailer is Santa's workshop! I make Christmas villages in it.

Do you find it better to place one item on each side of the trailer to keep the trailer in balance? Do you leave a box of cookies and a new forwarding address so old Saint Nick can find you? You don't want to get on the bad side of Mr. Claus.

Hi, Dave, I think you have the right idea. simple is best. How easily we collect too much stuff. (I was thrilled when I pared Christmas boxes down to 6 bins!)

I have an Etsy shop. I sell pre-cut kits for the buildings. People then add glitter, paint, snowy stuff, little trees, etc and put them into various types of scenes. For the one in the photo above I set the buildings onto an artificial mushroom that was a Christmas ornament.

They don't weigh much so no need to balance the load side to side.

When we sold our house we gave all our Christmas stuff to the Salvation Army. Coincidentally as we were delivering our last Odyssey full, they told us they had enough for the year.

We managed to get the critical stuff Ginny wanted to keep into four large plastic bins that fit in to the Odyssey.

The reality is we do not miss the 'stuff' but do miss the people.
