Our shop is unusually full of fibreglass doors to paint or stain for this time of year. But you may notice the Clamshell Tent Trailer in the middle of it all. We will be painting it to match his 1965 Studebaker. Brilliant! More photos later.

Hi Gerry! Happy New Year!

Nice to see your work!
We are in Puerto Vallarta until the end of January. There is the Fibreglass Trailer meeting in Quartzite AZ Feb 5-11.
Will you be there?

Tony

What brand is that? Curious, I am guessing it is an orphan.

Your guess may be as good as anyone. Somebody put a Scamper sticker on it but the owner says it's not.

:aw shucks the Studebaker is more important to me, but FG trailers are good to as long as held up by air.

Was wondering the same thing.

OURS is held up by air...inside of rubber. Does that count?

The little camper was a project by a commercial trailer painter for another party. The painter does not seem to know much about its origin, but they would likely have the owner's contact information on file.

This post by the painter contains business contact information. Contact the business directly and ask them to forward your contact information to the owner of the trailer.

Doc Bob. I have one as well. Bought in British Columbia. Mine also had two Scamper decals front and back. My research is that the Scamper with the "c" was a Canadian manufacture. Skamper with the " K" was a U.S. manufacture. I talked to a daughter of a Scamper employee and she doesn't remember Scamper making fiberglass units. I find it promising when yours and mine both have decals. They are smaller than the ones installed on a OEM tin Scamper trailer. I saw a long dated Craigslist advert for one in Kamloops, B.C. All effort was a dead end to identify.
Perhaps you've found more info, I'd love to know.

I think Doc Bob is long gone. It's been nearly two years since he logged in to FiberglassRV: Last Activity: 03-31-2021 01:28 AM
