I guess that we got hussled by the media..... again. Just a nice little winter storm. We only got about 5 inches here though I hear that some areas did get a bit of a blast. Stayed home and made beer bread. Yummmmm!

got about another foot last night... so far we, the "snow capital of the maritimes", have twice as much snow this year than last year....and winter's still nowhere near over. the piles are so high we cannot see when the car is turning corners...and those who have to shovel (mercifully, we have a blower) cannot lift it any higher onto the piles because they're already over their heads. but--it is gorgeously sunny and the sunlight is making the fresh snow glisten and shine like diamonds...so all is good!

Here it is almost noon on February 3rd. It is 12 degrees in El Paso and 36 degrees in Rapid City. Go figure.

I get very little snow but it got down to 22 degrees last night. I think it killed all my geraniums.
I just read that Al said the massive snowstorms and and extreme cold are," consistent with man made global warming."

6:30 AM - Dallas is 19 Degrees F and received 6" of snow overnight on top of 2" of sleet that fell Feb.1st and hasn't melted. Hope it all melts before the Super Bowl.

At 0659 the official temperature here in west central Texas, (San Angelo) was and still is 15 F. I have seen it colder here but not very often. There is still snow on the ground which is surprising as it is normally gone in 36 hours. I talked to a friend near Bowie, TEXAS about 200 north and east of here and at mid-week he had a foot or more on the flat. He feeds the horses then kicks his feet up on the wood stove. This weather may be inconvenient but there is an upside. We need the water and slowly melting snow is the best thing for winter crops and restoring ground water. Bring on some more!

Upper 70's again today. Short sleeves and sandals weather, again. Parked at the far end of the lot at the grocery store, just to enjoy the walk. Feels good.
My friend from Iowa is very happy to be here...

My youngest emailed from Albaquerque. The pipes are freezing in the apartments next to them. Might have to send longhandles.

Longjohns, battery powered socks, and those hand warmers that burn lighter fluid and keep in your pocket.
