Compact Jr Tongue Weight

Can someone tell me the approximate tongue weight on a 1973 Hunter Compact Jr? The one I am looking at just has a sink, icebox and a 3 burner stove. I was told the trailer is about 1200#. If you go by the 10-15% rule that would put it at about 120-180#. Am I in the ball park?

Yes, I was going to say about 150. Depends how you pack it, of course, more weight in the front or back can change the number but 120-180 probably covers the range.

That is what I was hoping for. We have a 2014 Outback that has a 200# limit.

Most of the fixed weight is behind the axle so you actually would probably want to pack some heavy things (or carry water) in front of the axle or the tongue weight is too light.
