Your missing Astro Manufacturing, Its the same body except it has 4 outward facing corrugations running from the pop top hatch forward molded into the roof to the front window, they stiffen the roof well, then the four drop to two congregations dropping down around the corner at the front window wall, there after turning the corner on both sides of the front window the two corrugations continue down the front wall terminating at the belly band. The pop top has 4 raised corrugations equally spaced across the fiberglass pop top running from side to side...these stiffen the pop top roof.

By the way, Astro is the same company that made the Havasu. Harry, I didn't know that yours has a moveable top like a Trails West Campster.

Thank you for that info, mine is #121 model 8TT made in that factory in 1971.

I will file the info in my scrapbook.

The hull in the Havasu album does not have the corrugated molded in features into the roof and pop top roof our does, these were not added in after the fact when it was molded, when the chop was layered into the mold these features were there, part of that mold...looking closely at the features in our trailer the corrugations were part of the mold itself.

Picture one on the bottom left is a Campster frame, the prime coated one to the right is the Astro frame with the tongue made longer...but the frame lay out is the same as factory in 1971.

The differences in the two frames are huge.

I would pull sharks teeth to see the frame of the Havasu.

I think it would be interesting to take the obvious improvements in these "boxy design cousins" into account to establish a rough generational order using design improvement criteria as one of the clues to the flow of innovation correlated to date of manufacturer.

I would make great effort to see a gathering of these little guys into one place for comparisons sake, not as squat oddities to be a source of amusement, but as serious camping trailers with a niche of honor.

Harry

It's nice to see the family of Compact Style trailers. That's my K-line in the picture.
How about the Family Wagon or Big Foot 13'?

Its great to see a listing and pictures of our little trailer's family. This is a great idea to put together, and could probably be a great resource for folks looking for mod ideas or dealing with problems that might be characteristic of our boxy little rigs.
Good Job!
