Considering purchase of 2017 1/2 Lance L-1985

We like what we see at dealership and have purchase pending with down payment. Then we find war stories of leaks and poor Lance service. We want to make an informed purchase. Sale person tells us Lance had leak problems through 2015, but design corrections 2016 and 2017 eliminated problems. What do you say? Thanks in advance, Jack and Rima

Hi, Jack! It's not obvious from the name of this forum, but we are focused on all-molded fiberglass trailers. That includes so-called "egg" trailers like Scamp and Casita. Lance builds conventional framed trailers with flberglass panel exterior cladding and a rubber roof. Different animal. You may find some former Lance owners here, but you will probably get more information on a general RV forum such as iRV2.com, particularly as it applies to specific model years.

On the other hand, if the war stories cause you to rethink your plan, molded fiberglass is an alternative to consider. They tend to be smaller, simpler, and pricier, but the all-molded shell has some significant advantages when it comes to leaks. Resale value is another big plus.
