Dating a Boler: I wonder if my 79 is a 79?

I have a Peace River Glass Fiber Boler, its serial/VIN is GF369. I bought it (in Canada) thinking it was made in 1979, but in registering it and titling it in the US, the fact that there is no clear indication of its year of manufacture has come up. I suspect that this will not matter, ultimately. But I'm having to perform a couple of additional steps to get it registered here in California.

I've read that post-1978 VINs include the year of manufacture. So I'm wondering if mine is actually pre-1978? Does anyone have a Peace River manufactured model whose number could shine some light for me?

Here's a picture to get your attention.

Well, it's not a 1979. I did a lot of Googling and collected a lot of serial numbers from Peace-River-manufactured Bolers. They only made them there from 1970-1973. And the serial numbers appear to have been sequential the whole time:

GF292 is 1970

GF309 is 1971
GF355 is 1971
GF369 is mine
GF424 is 1971

GF581 is 1972

GF795 is 1973
GF959 is 1973

Does it matter? Only to the people at the Department of Motor Vehicles, I'd say. But I'm no longer the proud owner of a 1979 Boler. I'm now the proud owner of a 1971 model.

I used to think it was very well-preserved. Now I'd say it's VERY well-preserved.

That is a VERY attractive Boler! I was curious and looked at the interior pics in the For Sale section, inside seems as nice as exterior. I think you did well with the purchase. Please keep us updated on the process of getting a title.

Hey,
I too have a Boler manufactured in Peace River AB and am trying to figure out the manufactured date.
The only evidence I have is this sheet.

In my newly-made database, I've found a GF1883 that's a 1975 model. So your GF2058 is probably a 1975 or 1976. I'm not clear on when they stopped making Bolers at Peace River.

This is exactly why I started the Trillium serial number list:
