Dear M(onste)R RV

This was posted by a member of the T@B forum. It does apply here too:

Dear 44' RV Owner,
I get that you need to block the exit for 20 minutes while you pick a site. After all, you don't fit into most. And though I'm trying to get to the store before it closes, I'll be patient while you unhook your dingy--which is bigger than my tow vehicle.
Hey, your setup only took two hours. Not bad. It's worth it to be comfy, even for one night. Also, I totally get that you need two satellite dishes. I mean you and the wife have different viewing tastes, right?
However, when you sneered at Petunia and asked me if I get "claustrophobic in there," you crossed the line, buddy. Take your 44 feet of fossil fuel burning excess and put it in a place that only an endoscopist could find.
Sincerely,
A super happy TABber

HAhahahah! Love it!! That was a good chuckle over my morning coffee to start my day Never understood why one needs to bring a whole house to a weekend campsite. Oh well, each to their own.

funny----yet sadly true. i have seen owners of 40' behemoths pull half way into a site and haul out a step ladder and actually cut off tree limbs to allow them to situate their tv satellites. the brazenness of that move floored me....but i am not naive enough to think it an isolated one.

we may be judged as crazy by some----but gimme my 13' of heaven ANYTIME!!!!!

I love it. I live large in 60 square feet and am comfy. And yes I do have a Queen size bed that is more comfy than my bed at home. I don't need the fireplace, microwave, video games and Sat TV to have fun. I go outside and walk to the washroom or restroom (as my American friends call it) and showers.

In most parks here if you cut a branch from a tree there is a Hugh Fine and sometimes even an escort from the park.

I've never felt put down. When someone who owns a monster RV says something like that to me, I just say "of course not, more like a comfy cocoon." Then stare hard at their ginormous rig and say... "at least my voice doesn't echo from bouncing off the far wall."

Two can play this game... Smile and walk away.

My Class A classless story

I have a lot of friends that have Class A motor homes. Once in a while you run into an obnoxious class A owner. Last February I did just that in Death Valley. I had picked a site in the corner of Sunset Campground. I had nice views of mountains to the east and to the west. We had been there enjoying the valley and sunsets and sunrises over the mountains for about a week. In comes Mr. Obnoxious and parks his very tall class A as close to us as possible. Sunset has mostly painted strips to separate campsites. He was so close that when he stepped out of behemoth his second step was in my site. Out he comes with 3 little yappy dogs and sets up a pen again overlapping my site. Not only did those dogs set of a ruckus when either one of wen outside, they set up a ruckus when ever we talked or moved inside out trailer.
All this was unpleasant enough but here we are in a campground with 275 sites and a grand total of 17 occupied.
It just so happened I needed water and knew it wouldn't hurt to empty the gray water. I picked out another site, picked up a couple chairs and put them in my new chosen site. Hooked up and went to the dump station, came back to my new site.
To add insult to insult the class A owner came over with "I didn't intend to make you move, but I wanted the view". My reply "I wanted and had the view first".
Fellow campers and campground hosts had all sorts of ideas on what to do to him to make is stay miserable, I them all that effort and trouble was more than the guy was worth. I told them I'll continue with passive aggressive behavior and not talk to him. He left is about two days. Hardly anybody in the campground spoke to him. I hope he learned his lesson.

I shut them down when I ask what they get for mileage when towing, most say 5-8 MPG, then mention that on a bad day up hill I get about 14 miles to the gallon, and many time better. That normally shuts them up, at least for a short while.
