the why for me....

I don't have those "slow discharging" AGM batteries....there are things in my trailer (fridge controller?) that consume power regardless.

the owner's manual for my charger specifically states that it can be left plugged in FULL TIME....as in boats/RVs...for months.....whenever the boat/coach gets plugged in the charger starts up... and it remembers the last setting it was used under.

I installed mine on a dedicated plug so I can turn it off by flipping that breaker (working on the trailer)...otherwise I just forget about it....when I plug the coach in the charger goes to work....

I should mention that my TV does not send power to the coach during travel....

all of the above is my "why".....might not be for everybody but, so far, it works quite well for me and my application/circumstances
