Does anyone know what this is?

I was driving by this place and saw this, it looked pretty cool, my aunt is a neighbor and she asked on my behalf if they were willing to part with it. Looks like a fun project but I don't know exactly what it is. Has anyone seen these before? any info would be awesome..I am still crossing my fingers that I will have a new project

I think that might be a small Dutch camper whose name escapes me right now..... let me see if I can find the name...

Edit: Maybe it is an early 1960s BIOD? Some of their models look similar, such as the Bambi, Extase, Fahti, etc. Maybe you could do some sleuthing since you have probably seen more of the sides and front of the camper in your photo.

Here is a page showing them:

Looks sweet!

Sweet, from the looks of it its a BIOD Extase 1969?, Hmmm this would really be an interesting project.

Thank You for the help

A close look at the photo appears to show riveted panels rather than one-piece molded fiberglass. This may be an aluminum trailer. A painted aluminum trailer that comes to mind is Argosy.

Ah, now I am not able to make out the rivets; but then I am on my old "spare" computer which is not so handy for things like that.

Also, between the trailer style and "Devon," I was thinking Richard was in the UK, but looking at his profile, I see he is in Alberta. So that would make a BIOD less likely, and something like an Argosy more likely. But maaaaaybe?!

Richard, do you have any more photos, or have you heard any more? From looking in person, did you get a sense for how long the trailer is? Are the neighbors Dutch?

Based on the one picture. My vote goes with the BIOD.

Raya if you open the picture in a "new window" you will get to see the bigger picture.

Those "rivets" look like a combination of lichens, peeling paint and possibly snaps for an "add a room". It also appears that another trailer or something is parked in front of the trailer.

More pictures please!!

Hi Roy,

I did do that, but still couldn't see rivets. However, I'm on my ancient spare laptop and so I'm not getting too fancy with my zooming/examining.

I agree: We must see MORE

When the picture is enhanced by 200% all I can see is the junk that will probably clean up pretty good with a powerwashing. I agree with Roy that what apears to be rivets is grime and dirt. I've seen more rivets on a 70's Boler where the cabinets are attached this way and not glassed into place for a nice clean look.

I don't know what it is but I want it! Poor thing needs to be rescued and camped in.

And I agree with Roy there appears to be another trailer in the picture.

This was the only picture my father-in- law could get, he took a series but this was the best. There is another trailer parked close to it (hence the square window you see, it "almost" looks like its part of trailer). I have since talked to the owner of the trailer and I am pending his decision (or rather his wifes) to give it up. When I am out and about again I am thinking to take some closer pictures.
