Dog friendly motels

Can anyone suggest which motel chain allows dogs? Thanks

Motel 6. (There are others, too, but Motel 6 has no pet fee.)

But the quality of their motels varies widely so it helps to have a recommendation from someone nearby as to which ones are decent and quiet and which are not.

Probably not the best place to ask since people on this forum have campers and usually shun hotels...

But I can say that Red Roof Inns allow dogs at no extra charge. Like Motel-6, the quality varies and often leaves something to be desired.

I have also found that some of the other (better) chains have started to allow dogs, usually for an added charge, in order to stay competitive. So it never hurts to ask.

La Quinta allows pets. What gets me is they limit pets to 2. I have 4 indoor cats now- but I just tell them 2 when I make reservations.
We got the 4th cat as a result of a breakin- I was in the bathroom with all the doors ajar so our cats could go out if they wanted. Heard the kitchen door open, thought it was DH getting home from work early so I called to him. There was a loud slam at the kitchen door. I gotout there as soon as I could and found a small tuxedo kitten staring at the slammed shut kitchen door. He was reall happy to see me. He;s now fixed and chipped, and a really nice mini-cat.

First: Pet-Friendly-Hotels .

Second: in my experience many motels in https://www.choicehotels.com/ admit pets but charge a fee.

Third: La Quinta doesn't charge extra fees.

Just in case you aren't aware, generally hotels/motels that accept pets have specific rooms for pets so that those with allergies can be in rooms free from dander. It is important to specifically reserve a pet room.

Some have size restrictions. I used to travel quite a bit with a Golden Retriever. A couple of times, I was able to stay with her even though she was bigger than the limit by having the manager meet her. The disadvantage to this was that the dog would perform and do her tricks and we had a hard time leaving in the morning because employees had heard about her and were coming in and wanting a repeat. I had a hard time getting out of Missoula!

I usually pulled into Motel6s which made things easy.

You should post a video here or link to one of her performances....

While I don't have pets, although I did travel cross country once with a caged parrot who we snuck into our room each night, I found your question intriguing so I Googled "dog friendly motels" and got lots of "hits". One thing I've found helpful when booking motels I have not been to is Google Street view. It can give you a good idea of how nice the motel looks, general area, how close to freeways or other noisy roads or businesses, etc. It's not foolproof but it is a lot better than sight unseen.
