Dometic 9' Cabana dome room purchase

I would like to purchase a Dometic cabana dome awning for my RV. Has anyone had any experience with this screen room and where I can get the best price.

I have one that I use on my Casita 17' and love it. It takes about 5-10 minutes to setup but adds so much room. Unfortunately Dometic stop making them a few years ago. You may have some luck checking out a Rpod dealer or ebay. I got mine from ebay when a few sellers had bought them from domectic when they surplused them. Other than that craigslist one that I posted, can't be too much help to you. I think mine is the curved one from an rpod and it works fine in a straight roof awning rail. I cannot remember what size I got but I think it was a 13' foot. I used it on our 13' Ventura but had to reposition the mounts for the roof poles inward about a foot on each end. It fits the Casita just perfectly and I have riveted some twist buckles in to attach the end wall to .

Any questions , just fire away

Did you Google the questions first? There are a number of vendors listed for this very expensive ($430-$650) accessory.

Ya they are pretty expensive when you find them at a dealer. I got lucky and bought up one of the last ones on ebay when they were being sold off at $125. Wish I had grad a couple of them.

I think that we are looking at two different versions of the item, what say?

So far thanks for the replys, yes I have Googled and the cheapest was a little over $400 from Dyers. There are two models one for the Rpods and one that is straight that fits popups and other small RV's.

I was hoping to find a better price or resale. I do have a friend who has one attached to her Rpod. So much more room is gained when in use.

Hoping to find a 9' straight model but will make fit for the right price.
Thank for each response.

We have an awning that I adapted for our Trillium. It is designed to go on the side of a van and clamp onto the gutter. i undid one side seam and changed it so that it pulls thought he awning channel. Have not figured out a method of attaching it to the sides of the trailer. It comes from Busdepot Camping & Outdoor Accessories. It is quick to put up and you can buy different sides to put on it.

Bus Depot has attaching clamps with suction cups on them for "SMOOTH" fiberglass. But they won't work on textured molded fiberglass like on a Hunter

We ditched the clamps and suction cups and opened up one seam on one side and attached a proper cord that fits into the track for the awning.

Anyone ever try Dometic's "Patty O Room" ?
Looks like it fits onto existing self-store awnings on Scamps ?
About $100 more than the cabana, maybe faster or better ?
Although the I like the Cabana's shape more, might be better in minor winds.

Roy - There is only one model and it fits into either a straight awning rail or a curved awning rail. The awning beading strip is flexible.

FYI - The Cabana room that was sold on Ebay is slightly different from the one sold by Camping World. The Camping World awning stores conveniently in its own weatherproof zippered pouch so that one can supposedly leave it connected to the rig when transporting. The Ebay model does not. Thom and I own one of each (see my thread, "More fun with Dometic Cabana Rooms.")

The Dometic Cabana Room is worth every penny.

Another Room Choice

Anyone familiar with the Carefree's Vacation'r ?

Around the same or a little cheaper and looks easier to set up
right onto the awning. Appears better than Patty O'Room.

All these choices has this old head spinning !
