Early spring?

Yesterday we made almost a quart of maple syrup. We're very early. Typically we start the first or second week in March. Very excited. Hoping for an early camping season.

We had 10 below zero this morning and 6" of snow predicted for tonight so gathering maple sap is aways off for us.
I hope that you have a great spring and a great harvest.
I helped a friend collect sap one spring , it was fun but a lot of work

Raz,
No sap buckets have appeared here in the east coast of VT yet, but our road did offer up a harbinger of mud season. Early camping season will be most welcome. Enjoy that quart!

We had waffles for lunch. And mud season has started. It's nice to be retired. Sooner or later Steve what you get we get. I'm burying my head in the sand (or snow)

Yea, buckets are out here in Maine too but the only thing running tonight will be me back and forth to the wood pile to the wood stove.

As I write this at 8 PM, it is 70 f outside, 73 in the house with the windows open. Its the second day in a row of record breaking highs and the local news reports that:
Friday is pretty much copy and repeat with forecast highs in the upper 70s set to break old records in the mid 70s for the 3rd day straight.
It feels like late spring.. on February 22ed.

An early spring might be nice but I fear an oppressive summer is coming.

Spring is a season that only exists where you have an actual winter.
