Exactly how does the scam work? How does the seller get your money without delivering the goods? They're posting good ratings from buyers...how does that work?
They send you an email saying there in spain and have a few offers to buy now at that low price. The first to get their check in gets the shaft

Is anybody good enough with a computer to enlarge/enhance the license plates of the vehicles in front of the Scamp?
Scam still showing on ebay

Who wants to be a detective?

Good Idea Ruth, but the pictures belong to honest owners who have had thier picures copied off the Internet. The scam artists a representing the photos as picures of their trailers.

Here is a post from a yahoo group I am a member of
Quote:
Photos and descriptions of our Scamp have been pirated and presented
on EBay. Our Scamp is for sale, but is NOT being offered on EBay. I
have listed our Scamp on fiberglass RV sites only. My postings
included a link to the webpage which was copied for the ad.

I have complained to the seller and EBay, but have not yet received a
reply.

Please beware of EBay Item #170014092339 -- if they have a trailer for
sale it is NOT the one depicted in the photos.

Jack, the scammers somehow hack into legit sellers eBay accounts. This allows them to post on the sellers accounts for a short period of time until it gets yanked.

I am only guessing here, but I suspect they change the sellers password and use the account, locking the real sellers out of thier accounts. Once again, I haven't a clue HOW they do this.

Ebay will send an email to the sellers registered address infroming them that thier password and email info has changed. Since THIS is also a common scam to get sellers financial info, I bet most sellers just delete the email and and find out later it's true when they try to use thier accounts. By that time, the scammer is long gone.
