Found this by accident---interesting concept. Met a couple in Baja who said they were considering doing this.

Nicely finished, nicely fitted, and even the useful storage boxes under the sides are colour-coordinated; however, I think if I were building a custom motorhome (and I've played with the idea a lot) and the unit was going to be 19 feet long with a 13 foot wheelbase like this one appears to be, I would want more than ten feet of interior length in the RV section. That Scamp does look like a natural fit with the narrow vintage truck cab...

The Scamp 19' on truck chassis idea has come up before, but I think that one would need about 8' of cab-to-axle clearance (versus 6' for the 13' Scamp) if the Scamp wheelhousings are to line up with the truck axle, so it would be one seriously long truck (maybe 180" wheelbase?).

Thanks for the interesting find, Diane.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

What a crummy idea! Why, neither one even has air conditioning... now what kind of motorhome is that anyway?

A few years ago I saw a vintage truck with a cabover camper body added to it.

That looks like one of those 'easy-off' camper mounts... isn't that a dump bed?

That truck is too new to be called 'vintage.' I have socks that are older than that

Now THAT'S a dangerous statement to be making... You could either be telling us something about the truck - or something equally important about your socks!
