I do have pdf copies of the microfilm originals.

The source is NewspaperARCHIVE.com

The articles about Ray Olecko often have his picture with them.

I am reluctant to post actual pdf because of the copyright thing. I feel safe in having them for my own use, but to start sharing them with others and posting on the internet I think is a no no. This is why I only reference and report on the contents and don't actually insert whole sections of copied text.

Then there is the question of whose copyrights apply. Is it the newspaper's or the archiving service?

This is more just a "Huh, this doesn't sound quite right but I don't know for sure" comment. I didn't know that the Honeys were Neonex Honeys; I thought they were just... Honeys. Does anyone know more about this? Also, my 1974 Boler was built by Neonex ("with pride") in Winnipeg, but is not a Honey, which seems to counter the second part.

I'm just a new kid here, but it looks like Neonex may have been making trailers for Honey to sell under their name, as well as their own Bolers. It's not uncommon to contract out something like this and have it badged with your company's name. Obviously Honey would have been paying Boler (Neonex) for the rights to sell the trailers under their name. Probably a good addition to the RV line they offered. Thoughts?

I'm thinking this may been intended to be another boler American which never got branded before Eleanor international met it's demise. Perhaps this is where Perris Valley got the molds for it's Perris Pacer. The Safety tags make it look like it came from California.

Just for your info. I have a 1973 Boler from Peace River Alberta serial number GF795. My friend has a 1974 Boler from Peace River Alberta serial number GF892?? (I think this is the serial) Someone here had a 1972 and the serial number was correct to mine. (GF690 or something???)Does GF stand for Glass Fab.

It is possible Rick. I really don't know. My focus with serial numbers has been with the limited production boler American. (approx. 6 months in 1972)

It is possible that there was a boler manufactured in the US before the boler American. As early as April 1971.

Pierre Bélanger last year told me that the origin of the 1650 that Earlton
produced was from the Amerigo mold

I have to catch up with Charly at the (still working there) Earlton Camping
Center to have a discussion on the 1650 Charly used to mold the mat in the gel coated steel mold in the production line

Charly told Jean Louis Audet ( an 1650 owner ) that they produced only 8
Boler 1650

Diane and I own a 1650 square : manufacture june 1980 sold has a 1981

Adding a bit of info I found last night. Filbert V. posted pictures of their 1972 Tote n'Tarry showing that it was made by Fiber Stress Incorporated, Petaluma California.



California Records give the following:
Entity Name: FIBER STRESS INCORPORATED
Entity Number: C0643186
Date Filed: 01/12/1972
Status: SUSPENDED
Jurisdiction: CALIFORNIA
Entity Address: 150 LAKEVILLE STREET
Entity City, State, Zip: PETALUMA CA 94952

January 12, 1972 puts this start at about the same time as the boler American was starting in the USA. Records indicate that Evelands had a loan approved 3 weeks prior.

Google mapping the various locations of this and the boler American shows direct links with highways to all.

1968 - 1st boler produced in Winnipeg, MB by Ray Olecko first 100 units flat roof 13' (have as neighbour with a flat roof unit)
19** - Grand Prairie boler 60's I think
1971 - American boler rights sold to Elenor International of Wichita, KS
1971 - boler rights sold to Peace River, Alberta and Earlton, Ontario
1972 -1979 13' Earlton boler produced in Earlton Ontario *
1972 - boler American produced (1972- ??) (3 plants)
1977 -1978 17' Earlton boler told they used western molds?
1979 - Calgary introduced a 17' version not as popular as the 13' unit
1980 - Earlton Boler 1650 * site comment says Amereigo mold
1988 - The last Boler trailer apparently came off the line
Neonex, still holds the boler trademark and the registration is still "live".

1980-1990 - Perris Pacer produced in San Jacito, CA
1981 - 1st Casita produced in Backus

Ours is an Earlton from Earlton Ontario but a 17' made in 1978 measures 17' 4" long

The Midhurst Bolers were made from molds sold off in an auction from the Earlton plant when it went out of business in maybe 1983. So the Earlton run of Bolers ended shortly before the Midhurst Bolers began.

I've always assumed that Irwin Krieg kept a low profile behind the other two originators of the boler and boler Manufacturing. When one thinks of the originators of the original boler company, it is Ray Olenko and Sandor Dusa that come to mind. Who would have thought that Irwin started Bigfoot when the original boler manufacturing business was sold?
I never thought that I would find history interesting. Discovering these little tidbits of information is fascinating!

In July of 1971 Duane Eveland was involved in remodeling damaged mobile homes. A factory representative from Bolar American stopped by and watched. Eventually the Bolar salesman asked if he would like to manufacture trailers for Bolar. The Bolar trailer was designed in Canada and Bolar American was a company attempting to develop the US market. Duane was interested and together with his brother Gerald Eveland and sister Gladys Coffland negociated a contract with Bolar in which Eveland’s Inc. would manufacture trailers and Bolar would market them. Just discovering this thread now. As we are now completing our restoration of a 1975 Boler, would love to find the complete list (as complete as it can be); but starting to get unsure of which message contains the latest list of production dates, spin-offs, etc. Please let me know which one is the most complete list. Thanks.

I just bought a Midhurst Fiberglass Ltd - Boler Voyageur trailer a week ago. What caught my eye was the fact that my 1300 was manufactured in May 1991. The aluminum plate on the drivers side exterior lists the manufacturing date and the serial number (any way to search the serial number?)
I also have the original owner's manual, in the back of the manual is the "owner's reference log" which has been filled in. Date of Purchase was July 1992 and the Dealership name was Carlson Sports in Northbay, Ontario. Interestingly enough I actually bought the trailer from a small community just outside of Northbay.
I hope this adds some interest to an already comprehensive thread.
