There was an RV dealer in Colorado that had a handful of brand new Scamp 13' for sale. I stopped and asked why -- Turns out the owner bought them with the intention of rental RVs, but after they were delivered, he got around to checking liability insurance and decided the wisest course of action was to sell the Scamps.

UHaul used to rent trailers.

Is there really a market for 2,000 lb rental trailers....

Pete
My former employer had trailers and buses outfitted with demo products that were taken to remote customer locations, trade shows and the like for dog and pony shows, field product demonstrations. I could see them renting a dozen or so units to work sales magic in. They'd be used to bring the customer in out of the heat or cold, offer him libation, sit him down and work sales magic. There are niche markets within niche markets.

Wow, so many idea! I never noticed the lack of withdows. The ones there look pretty good IF they open. as I look back - one in the door would be nice, and maybe one over the sink. I could add these myself.

Clear cabinet doors?? I might like that.

A space age name could be interesting, but the name isn't a real issue to me. Maybe a model name of?? SPACE. I love my space.

What's the inside height? That is something I would need to know.

Main thing, is I WOULD save up for one of these IF they came with a bath and shower.

I wonder if there's a bath and shower by the door -- like the 17' Burro had. There is a couple of black thingies on the roof that could be vent pipes but they don't have the normal caps. Still it sure looks like it could have black and gray tanks. Since I haven't found a view of the front, I wonder if there's propane on the tongue. If there is a stove, then I wonder where it is.

I see both hot and cold on the faucet, but I don't see a water heater vent. How about an air conditioner? Could it be in the front?

I like the size and the look (minus the stripe as I've really come to like no decals). I do wish it was just a tad further off the ground. That rear could drag on some of the dips I've been on.

I'm definitely interested in getting more information on it. Like when, where, and how much and exactly what does it have?

... and I don't see refrigerator vents. How 'bout a spare tire.

Hey ... this IS just a prototype. This stuff just probably isn't in yet.

Overall, I do like its looks.

Jana - SPACE - I like that...it's just retro enough too. How about COSMOS? Hopefully wouldn't refer to the price! And oooh, clear cabinet doors...you're on to something. Maybe you and I should just open our own brand!
Suz, it does look low to the ground, especially when one is used to the raised rear of the 16' Casita.
I like the stance on the wheels though. Wide track makes it look sporty. Coupled with 88" width might make it more challenging to tow than I'm used to. I haven't seen a Burro or Uhaul in some years...are they that wide?

The Burro's 90" wide according to their specs.

17 foot Burro travel trailer
Length - 17 feet 8 inches
Height - 7 feet 10 inches
Width - 7 feet 6 inches
Dry Weight - 1800 lbs.
Hitch Weight - 125 lbs.

In this picture, the Burro appears to me to be higher off the ground, but it's hard to tell.

Were Burro's made this way?
Yes, the only seams are right in the center. And I haven't seen a Burro that mated perfectly either.. thus the large cover ups in the middle.

Mine has a variation on the stripes. I think he stole my idea! (Just kidding!)

This looks (to me) like what an updated Burro design would be, if it were given the "new Beetle" treatment; like what Volkswagen did with their car.

I think that the lack of window across the back is a practical matter in the manufacturing process due to the vertical seam between the shells.

By studying the interior photos, it appears to me to have a floorplan similar to the Casita Spirit Deluxe. I deduced this from the wall with cabinet door behind the narrow side dinette, and the window size/placement. This might indicate a front bathroom. Casita usually does not put a window in the front of their trailers.

The photo tells me that the "kitchen" is along the curb side, and even though I detect an under-counter refrig in the corner of the photo that shows the sink, I also do not detect an exterior vent. Could it be an electric, other-than-absorption design?

First thing that struck me, also- was lack of windows and the windows don't look like they even open!!!! *sigh* I realize that in the summer with no shade and hot southern summer nights, one would use the A/C if they had it... but doggone windows are important to get fresh aeration!

I don't like the name EggCamper, either- Yes, something more like "PodCamper". THAT is exactly the term I was thinking about them!!!

I think these little eggs do look futuristic- in fact, I am re-decorating ours in an outerspace theme, indeed! AND trying to think of an appropriate sort of nickname for it- Like "Gramma and Granpa's little Space" or "Welcome to our Pod"

But, boy, what a NICE unit!

I think byron;s right .Not enough windows. Therefore not enough ventalation, and can't see the trees for the walls. Otherwise it's a nice design and looks as if it's easy to keep up.

You don't want to know what my initial reaction was to, "Fiber Stream". Think laxatives and a vegan diet.
