Electric knife

Donna, your electric knife suggestion for cutting the memory foam was wonderful!
It worked like a charm. I had that mattress cut in no time flat.
Just wondering if you or anyone else has any other good ideas on things to use an electric knife for (besides cutting meat that is).
My electric knife sits in the kitchen closet for years on end. Now I have one more use for it, and looking for other ways to use it.
THANKS for the helpful hints. I love this board. I would have never thought to cut a memory foam mattress to fit the curve of the camper with an electric knife.

Yep, I heard it first on this forum! Only passing along what I've learned. But an important point...don't sneeze while the knife is running...you'll zip through an area of the foam you don't want to cut

I bought my electric knife with the soul purpose of cutting foam...bought it at a garage sale for a buck...if I don't use it for anything else...not a great loss as far as I'm concerned.

What the heck, wash the blades real well and use it to cut the Christmas ham!

Got one as a wedding gift 40 years ago.
It still sits on top of the spice cabinet.
Was looking at when repainting the kitchen a while back and it still looks new.
Wife said to put it back cause it may come in handy some day.
That'll be a first.

I find them useless for meat, but as they are normally serrated they should work well on bread... if you still slice your own.

I use my electric knife all the time! I make all our bread, and use it to cut the bread. Plus, an electric knife is the ONLY way to cut hot bread, fresh out of the oven, without squishing it.

For those who do not have an electric knife, a long serrated bread knife slices through foam as well as bread.
