Elko, Nevada places to park rvs.

Does anyone know of places to stay with a trailer between Reno and Elko, Nevada. Going to Elko for a few days in a few weeks to do some historical research and need a place to park. Thanks for any info. Marg

We've stayed in the Elko area for a couple of weeks and stayed a little east of town at Welcome Station, in Wells, NV. It may be to far for you but it's a Passport park, very reasonable and extremely friendly owners, a campfire every night and deserts included some evenings. Every day he gave us a routine of things to do and see.

We also camped in the Ruby Mountains.

I suspect it's too far out for you but was a fun place and really let us see the area.

THere's a Basque restaurant in Elko, worth going to but be careful what you order the portions are huge, the salad is a bowl for a family of four and so is the soup.

We have stayed at Winnemcca RV Park, which s close to the half way point between Reno and Elko. Here are some other choices too:

We can second the Welcome Station. Nothing like a wonderful hot shower after a week at no-showers Arches NP! And parking on lawn, under big shady trees , ahhh!

We stayed at the Iron Horse RV park in Elko last year for one night as we traveled east on I-80. It was very clean and seemed well managed. We would stay there again.

Happy to see someone else found Welcome Station. He sent us out on a day trip to find the hole through a top of a mountain.

We also stayed Iron Horse one night, expensive I recall and more traditional than Welcome Station where there are horses in the field outback. Iron Horse is great if you have business in town. I had a stag party to attend so stayed close to the party.
