Escape 19 on the way

Our new Escape is not here yet... likely delivered some time next week!
A range of 5-8 days makes it Mon-Wed.

They did send photos almost daily during the building and a set on completion. We had discussed the customized graphics available on the trailer with a dozen or so colors to chose from.

I had to forwarded one "customized" version to my wife, suggesting the only reason we were up-sizing was to accommodate Esmé.

Not that she doesn't get all the attention she wants, mind you...

Cheers,

Bat Dude and crew

Congrats on the new RV. It sounds like a wonderful up-grade. Anyone who likes/studies bats is on our list of good people. Our VT bats have nearly disappeared, but we're beginning to see one or two in the evening from our deck so maybe their is hope for a slow recovery.

The front cargo box makes a lot of sense.

Well that's pretty exciting.

I'm going to a local community presentation on bats tomorrow night, made me think of you. Too bad you weren't in the area to help out!

:Batdude the bats are going to miss you as they now have some kind of virus or bug at least up here in Canada, which means the birds will be next then the Mosquito's will get real bad, so someone better find a cure for them quickly.

Hi Hal and Dorothy,

We do have a receiver on the back of the trailer but not sure if we will drag the bikes along for the winter escape this year. They really were weathered pretty badly last winter. We certainly will for shorter trips.

Only a short 30 days at Jekyll this year.

Hi Zach,

We have never been to Montana. Guess it is snow and cold 11 months of the year so wondering about what the poor bats can do to find food.

I have never seen a bat with snow shoes! ;-)

I am sure our travel adventures will continue in our new FG rig.

We are planning a first 8-10 day shakedown trip in Sept. to the U.P. of Michigan. I will need to learn how to hookup the load balancing hitch,

For our 2018-2019 Winter escape we plan on heading west again after a brief stop at SC (Huntington Beach SP) then GA (Jekyll I). Pulling west in January> Big Bend & Davis Mountain State Park (TX) than NM, AZ, and Calif (Death Valley and maybe Anza Borrego SP), Then stopping at the Kentucky Horse Park again in early April before returning to Mich.

With a bit more space it should be easier to have more food on board and still get some of my bat work done with the grad students. Much larger table space for laptops.

Cheers all,

Bad Dude

I’d try to change your thinking on Montana, but if more people thought the way you are, we’d have a lot less of them trying to move here! We need some more rough winters to scare them away. 11 months of winter and one month of smoke, that’s Montana

This year the bats have plenty of mosquitoes.
