"Escape Hatch II" is home!!!

Hi: All... Spent the better part of 4 weeks on the road. First delivering "Our Escape Hatch" 5.0 Classic to the new owners and then trucking off across the prairies and thru the Rockies to Chilliwack BC. to pick up our 2014 Escape 5.0TA. WHEW!!! Attended the Escape rally in Osoyoos BC. Canada's desert then off to Waterton/Glacial International Peace Pk. then Yellowstone Pk. and a race ahead of bad weather all the way back to SW. Ontario.

Hi: Donna D... In a word it's "HUGE"!!!
I'm so tired from the trip and crossing 3 time zones and the border 4 times, but I had to get the grime off. It's definitely a two day wash job. Tomorrow I'll do the roof.

Understand, get some rest.

I keep thinking it's only four more feet (16' vs 20') but the difference is all 20 feet is interior space, since it hangs over the box. My overall towing package is only going to be itty bitty inches added to the length compared to towing the 16' Scamp and it's all inside useable. SWOON!

You could come to bolerama in July. We hope to get to see it then. I imagine Alf will have line ups.

Way to go Alf!

Hi: Roy in TO... Thanks!!! We are booked into site 83 this year. Someone got into 79 ahead of us. With a 160 watt solar panel on the roof, and a 6.7 cu. ft. 3 way fridge, we could have stayed with the group on the bluffs.
I'm still trying to figure out how everything works
I might have to hire someone to do "Crowd Control"
Here's a pic of us hooked up for the first time at Escape Trailer Industries.

Alf,
That picture taken from the bed with your foot in it is identical to one you took for Escape Hatch I except you are wearing socks in this one!! What kind of mileage did you get with the new unit?

Thanks, Roy. I'd love to do it, but have to get my house sold in July. I'll let the crowds die down and see hope to be first in line at Niagara Wine Escape.

Alf, is the small bottom step hinged for storage? I'm planning where to store my shoes.

Interesting idea... if it is not hinged, maybe it's not to late to call the factory and "make it so."

Are we guilty of Escapism?

Might suggest you see if the fire extinguisher can be put in a recessed holder too. If that is what it is between the steps and door.

What a beautiful trailer! I like how the truck striping matches it. I see you'll be in Algonac in September. Joanne and I will be in the crowd waiting to see it. Congratulations!

You are right Jim and you can certainly see the difference in size especially the width. But despite your comment to me about seeing a TA in the future for us I think we are in Dave and Sandy's camp on that where we would rather not spend more to move up but with limited retirement funds would rather spend more time south in the winter!

Alf, What kind of extended mirrors are those on your Frontier (I can't tell from the photo in message #9), and are they wide enough to suit you with the new 5.0TA? Also, how is your Frontier handling the additional weight of the new camper, and does it have enough power to push through the tandem axle tire slide when turning sharply - especially backing up? We're looking into getting a Frontier as our next TV and just wondering how yours is handling the extra weight and maneuvering with the tandem axles.
