Escape hatch locations?
I'm curious about the type/location of secondary escape hatches or windows on various trailers.
On my '78 Trillium it's a swingout panel on the rear of the trailer.
What's yours?

I just wave my magic wand, and POOF, I am outside. 
Or, if the wand isn't handy, I would push open the escape hatch (window) which is in the rear opposite the door, where I imagine most would be.

I posted this on another thread (off-topic), so here it is again.
Here is a photo of the escape hatch in the ParkLiner we just sold. It is in the kitchen area centered over the aisle, directly in front of and above the stove, in the 6'5" tall ceiling. Not sure how one would actually escape using this hatch. I guess I would also need a magic wand.

On my Trill 4500 1/2 of the rear window unit was a swing-up panel that I think was intended for us to slither through?
My 1300 had none at all?
On my Scamp 16' it was above the bed and on 2 Casitas the rear curbside window pops open as well as having a slider in it with a screen. This is where scoundrels broke in to my '01 SD too.
The Fiberstream,you are on your own I guess but each of the main windows seems big enough to use depending on how big you might be?

That looks like the escape hatch/vent in my Scamp. However it's over the end of the table. I would have to climb on the table to escape through it.

Some from western MD some DE. All eggs hatching now. No worse than rabbits in Oz but a plague nonetheless. Making light trap from litre bottle. Back to regular programming.

On my Casita 16 it's on the driver side wall. Presumeably on any wall (or ceiling) except the side with the door. If the trailer was on it's side blocking the door you still have an exit. (I don't know, maybe a wind storm knocks it over with you in it)

As I understand, there "used" to be a requirement for an escape hatch if the kitchen area (meaning stove) was located between the primary sleeping area and the exit door. For this reason it seems that a lot of Class "C" motorhomes up until the mid-80's had an escape hatch over the cab over bed area should a kitchen fire block access to the door.
In Toyota Mini-motorhomes this was common practice up until about 1988 when they seemed to have disappeared.
In our Lil'Bigfoot you can easily kick out the rear window as it's plastic. In the older Hunter Compact-II there is no such provision.

On my Bigfoot 5th wheel, its over the bed over the hitch. Easy egress to the roof, and I guess, down the back ladder.

My scamp has the same escape hatch that you could climb up onto the table to get out but I suspect in an emergency it would be faster and simpler to slide open the back window and head out that way - lot shorter fall! LOL

Mi burro also relies on either front or rear slider for emergency exit. Sliders at sides might work for tossing out dogs cats ferrets gerbils.

We can chuckle about trailers laying on their sides, but the door becoming blocked by falling trees/branches is probably a lot more realistic. There are true emergencies (fire!) and less stressful emergencies... the door lock is broken and I can't get out. Having ANY egress is better than none and I'm glad the roof vent is big enough and made for getting out. The less damage I do to my trailer when I NEED to get out, the better.
