Escape Owner/Author/World Traveler

Yesterday I was riding my bike around our park to invite new members to a coffee and dessert at our new place and came across an Escape 17. I stopped and introduced myself to Jim Hendrickson.

It turns out that Jim is a world traveler. He's been hiking and biking across North America and the world for decades. He recently purchased a new Escape to travel in as well. Professionally he is an internationally known linguist (as I was to read) and an author.

In addition to his professional publications, he self publishes books on his travels. They are available on the following link. I know some don't read much but his link is interesting in that it gives a little insight into a decidedly interesting man and his travels. Of course I invited Jim to our coffee.

An innocent bike ride can result in a new opportunity to expand oneself.

Oh WOW. Thanks for sharing the post and your thoughts Norm. Yes, you cannot meet new people by always staying in your campsite, nor gain new memories/experiences by always going to the same places. I love to expand my world. Certainly not to the extent of Jim's, but bit-by-bit as often as I can.

Donna,

Certainly Jim is an extraordinary traveler. Not many of us could do that but it's nice to know there's someone doing it. It helps define what's possible and appropriately he owns an Escape.

You two and he should have some great conversations! Kindred spirits in some ways.

Right on Jim, wish I could do that but not enough time left. But I'll give it a go! And you couldn't have picked a better trailer being an owner of an Escape17' also!
Happy trails, Craig

I've read some of Jim's books on line (you can read 10% of the book on the link without charge). It makes on wonder if there was an event in Jim's life that led to his wanderings.

Sometimes a small event provides the 'starter' necessary to kick things off.

It's certainly not possible to do everything in life but it's always possible to do more.

A Tip

Go to the link I posted earlier and click on Travel is my Passion. Follow that up with clicking on the Online Reader.

Move to the Introduction and move to the Introduction on the bottom of page 4. Good advice on why and how to travel.
