Does the escape 19 replace the Bigfoot?

NO----Bigfoot operations went down. Escape is a totally different Company. There are rumors that Bigfoot may start up again.

I know but what I was wondering does the escape 19 fill a void left by Bigfoot?
They had a 19
how do they compare?

Ron, I guess the 21 Big Foot is the only BF product that is close in length. To answer your question, IMHO there are no equals to Big Foot quality of build. Period.

That'll bring out the discussion and perhaps I should be more sensitive but you asked for an opinion....There are others that will be as long, or similar in molded construction, but not any where close to BF quality.

We have an 11 year old 17 footer also that still has the new car smell after 60,000 plus miles and kids.

Big Foot will be missed..... RIP....

Now I think you're also asking "should I buy an Escape"? The Escape family has sure shown that they are customer friendly and by all accounts on this board they have a happy customer base. No exterior rivets either!

Close the deal and find the fastest route from KNAB! By the way, we came through your lovely town this year and it could definitely use an Escape parked outside the chuck wagon - if you ask me!

happy trails

I really wanted to buy a Bigfoot at one point. They are built better then the Escape in that the are a true 4 season trailer. The drawbacks are that the were much more expensive and a fair bit heavier for the same size. I could have looked past that if they had even one model less then 21' with a decent layout. All the beds were too narrow, and they put in relatively large bathrooms which wasted space. There 21 and 24' model have nicer layout due to having more room, but you would never tow one with a V6, that's for sure.

For me, there is no better laid out trailer 19' or less then the Escape 19, at least for us and what we wanted that is. The only things I would change are things my wife does not want to.

This was the most recent 19 Bigfoot that sold, they're pretty rare. There was another one that sold in July in Chico, CA but I'm not finding it at the moment.
I don't know that like Jim said, the bed sizes were any better and after looking at a bunch of these I agree with him that you've got to get the 21 or better to get a good bed layout.

Of course, for one person the 17 or 19 Bigfoot beds would work great.
