Trailer: 1982 13 ft Scamp

I have finally joined the ranks after months of sifting through eBay, Craigslist (and of course this site), watching longingly with a heavy "sigh" as the occaisional Scamp passed me on the highway...

My profile has just been updated from

RV Type: none

to

RV Type: 1982 13' Scamp!!!!!

It was exactly what I wanted, so I was willing to make the 8 HOUR DRIVE yesterday from Kansas to Wisconsin, where I promptly hooked up the camper, handed over the money, and immediately hauled it back. Including gas station stops, the half hour it took to look it over, hook it up, go over the title and briefly chat with the sellers (wonderful people), it was a 17 hour driving marathon.

So here I am the very next day at work, in a state of complete psychotic obsession: "must get home to be with camper...must get home...camper..."

Yep, I'm on cloud nine folks, and I'm savoring the moment!!

Congrats!

I know just how you feel.
My family and friends thought I was crazy driving 3000 miles last month to get the Fiberstream. It was not really a revelation to them just reaffirmation.

I too can become fixated and determined to spend all hours planning and wrking on the Egg.

Worse things can happen.

Have fun.

I do not have off-street parking at home. My employer lets me store the Fiber Stream in a secure yard behing the building at work. After work, the shop is close by for trailer projects.

*ring*
(answering cell phone, long after the workday has ended)
"Hello, this is Fred."

(Robert's voice)
"Where are you? Do you know what time it is?"

(sheepish resignation)
<sigh> "I'm at the trailer..."

It... Starts...

And if past be prologue, it my never end for you. We may only wish it so.

Congratulations on your new obsession... healthier than home brewing, cheaper than vintage sports cars and less understandable to the masses than the infield fly rule.

Buy my house in Miami so I can go camping in Tennessee.

Congratulations. Don't expect your condition to go away anytime soon. I sleep in the trailer in my yard, on a regular basis.

I purchased our 13 ft. Scamp last summer. I still go out there (the driveway where it's parked) with my laptop computer and coffee to work on things. Sometimes my mind just wanders as I look around to see what improvements I could make on the inside. It's my little haven.
