Pretty interesting, but not exactly real-time info.

Yeah, 2005 is not exactly real time, but shows the relation between various taxations. Too bad Canada wasn't in there also. Point is, if the Euro market can sustain prices like that, eventually we may have to do it also.

My cousin came to visit from Italy and the gas price there is between $6 to $7USD per gallon based on the Euro being over $1.50USD to 1 Euro.

Hi all,
I live in Rome... in this moment the price of gazoline is 1,38 euro (2,16 $) for litre and the price of the diesel is 1,35 euro (2,11 $) for litre.
What's the price of gazoline and diesel in USA or Canada?

Thank you very much

ciao

Rob

Rob, the link below is to a site that can accept three US or Canadian cities or regions and give the current gasoline prices or go back for years. You can set the rates as USD/US gallon or $CDN/Liter.

http://www.alaskagasprices.com/retail_price_chart.aspx

This is really a hard question to answer because each of the 50 states taxes fuel differently, but the general answer is that the US is less than Canada and Canada is less than Europe.

Rob,

Here are links to a couple of companies who sell gasoline and diesel fuel throughout the US and some in Canada. They post the retail prices tax included for each of their locations on line daily. A US gallon contains 3.785 liters.

I assume EU contries use those high gas taxes for their various social programs, so yeah, they pay a lot for gasoline, but they get a free medical examine out of the deal! They also have good train service to mitigate the pump pain.

I see higher taxes in our future.

And check out RobiRob's website!

Yes Patrick, the taxes in Italy are very high, more that in other country of Europa.
Travel is very expensive. Also travel on the freeway is very expensive.
For example: if I go to Milano from Rome in freeway (autostrada) with my car, I have to pay 31 euro (48,69 US $) with trailer 40 euro for 550 km
But with this oil (petrolio) more and more expensive I think that the price will still increase

Georgia has cheap gasoline relative to Florida (or lots of states, for that matter), but they have expensive system for vehicle registration (percent of Blue Book value). Florida has expensive gasoline but inexpensive registration. Hard to pin it all down.
