Fantastic Fan Vent Covers

Anyone have a preferred manufacturer? Maxxair Fanmate and Fantastic Fan Ultra Breeze are two models I am considering.

Thanks

The MaxxFan unit does not need a separate cover, as it uses a fold down system the keeps the rain out when open. closes for a lower profile while traveling.

If you are asking about fantastic fan vent covers, then we really like our Maxxair II vent cover. Easy to clean due to the hinge on one side. We keep our vent open year round, rain or shine, and it keeps the rain out.
I don't have any experience with the replacement fans though.

We have had both. Maxxfan is our hands down favorite. Both are great products but the design of the Maxxfan is better

UPDATE ON VENT COVERS

After visiting our local BF dealer, I learned that:

1. The Fantastic Fans do no have external mounting tabs. Therefore the Fanmate EZ clip cover will not work.

2. The alternative Fantastic Fan Ultra Breeze is opaque, unattractive IMO and very flimsy construction.

Luckily, the dealer still had two Maxxair Fanmate Model 950's ( older style and not made anymore) that they wanted rid of.

Its too bad they discontinued this model. The construction is waaay superior to what is available in the marketplace today.

If you happen to locate the old stock model 850 (white) or the 950 (black), I'd recommend picking them up.I had them on my 04 21ft Rb...zero complaints.

I installed the Fanmate EZ clip cover on my BF myself. Works well. Take the clips off and the unit tilts up. I did not know it will not work. Guess I should have asked before I installed it.

Did yours have external mounting clips built into the body of the fantastic fan housing?

The point of the original info. submitted was that one cannot use the true "EZ clip system" on fantastic fans because there are no external mounting tabs.

Installation of the Fanmate EZ clip vent covers requires use of the mounting hardware.

Russ, not really sure what you guys are talking about. There are no mounting clips on the Fantastic Fan. I drilled 4 holes into the side of the Fantastic fan as per the instructions with the MaxxAir II vent cover. I put sealant on the 4 bolts (I did not use screws as specified in the instructions because bolts are stronger). It was easy and works well. The MaxxAir II has clips on both sides and you can flip either side up as needed.
