I flew down to Dallas Friday and back today.
My son drove us in his motor home to a motorcycle race out near Tyler TX... which is about three hours away.
We left Dallas at rush hour on Friday afternoon and noticed a near absence of any kind of RV. Not counting our own we saw only TEN RVs for the interstate trip to Tyler.

A three day weekend and the highways were almost empty of recreational vehicles... and most cars too.

I'm hearing two new words brought on by the high fuel prices:
1) Staycations.... where you stay home or very close by during vacation time
2) Urbanation.... where you leave suburbia and go downtown (and the hotels) for vacation time.

Neither sounds all that great to me, sure glad I own a Molded Lightweight Fiberglass RV

Talking

And this weekend in Central WA, Bulgemobiles pulling $30,000 boats, Toy haulers, pickups with humongus campers pulling trailers loaded with atvs, jetskis, etc were plugging the hiway. Go figure. Larry
