Hi All:
Would anyone know how to find an Owner through the trailers VIN #,
and I guess more specifically in Ontario Canada?

I thought I would try to see if any of the trailers I saw on Sunday are for sale?
Firstly the Trillium 5500, then the 1300, and a couple of the Bolers as well.
I will gladly post further info, if they are available?
I am going to try and take a pic of their VIN numbers.
I thought I would try to buy the UVIP, "Used Vehicle package" here in Ontario,
but that will $20 per trailer, IF they are available for trailers????
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thank you, Jake.

Send a message via Yahoo to Alf S.
Hi: Jake... I have a similar problem 'tho involving 2 Provinces. Without the actual owner you're pretty much out of luck. Privacy of information act will not allow the Licence Office to give out info.
The Used Vehicle Pkg. is only for motorized vehicles and must be purchased by the seller!!!
Good Luck and let me know how you make out. I felt like I was on a Merry go Round...getting nowhere...fast.

Since these trailers are at an RV storage lot, is it possible the manager of the lot can help? Perhaps they'd be willing to get a message to the trailers owners? Thinking out loud here. That Trillium 5500 needs to resurrected!

If they're at a storage lot, it's possible that they have been abandoned and that the owner of the lot is legally allowed to sell them to make up for lost storage fees. That's a possibility here in the States so that might be something to look in to also. Good luck - there are some neat finds there.

And here in the States, we have similar privacy protections.. thank heavens!

I agree with the others, inquire of the lot owner and see if he/she will get a message through.

I personally would bonk you on the head with a Beagle if you approached me through "snooping" via he web or gubmint agency. It sure wouldn't make me inclined to want to do business with ya!

On the flipside, I have no issue with a note left on the trailer door (I have had a couple, I always call and say "No, sorry, not for sale" ) or even a knock on my own door. Thats how I got mine!

Thank you very much everyone.
I totally agree with the Privacy laws, that is why I was curious if the Used package was an option, and a legal avenue?
Thank you Alf, i did not realize that it was only for motorized vehicles.

I agree Donna, although in really sad shape, that Trillium 5500, really needs a new and caring home.
She deserves to be all new and shiny again.
It would truly be a labor of love to redo that classic beauty!

I will go with the general opinion, and consult with the storage owner, and ask IF i may be able to leave a note, or if he would consider calling them and leaving my contact info?
I would love that 5500!
Cheers, Jake.

If the vehicle has a plate on it, you can go into the MTO and get a used vehicle package, ANYONE can do this and it is perfectly legal.
This will give you the current plate owners name, but not an address or phone number.
Since trailers are exempt from the U.V.I.P. this may not work, and you would be out the fee.

If you have the actual VIN, you can get the plate history report through the MTO online, just pay the fee.

Again, no address or phone number,

So all in all, none of this really helps you to be able to contact the owner, your best guess is the owner of the storage yard

Oh Donna!
Yes, it really does!
They are such kool looking FiberEggs, and spacious too, lol!

Yep, another trip is in order to the storage place.
Despite the "Not for sale" sign in the window, I may
have to bribe the storage facility guy, to pass on my
contact info, a case of beer maybe, lol?

One more thought. A picture of the trailer HERE might excite an owner enough to tell us about his unit.

Great idea James.
Perhaps he is a member of the FRV?
It's a lovely trailer, and just needs alot of tender
loving care.
Gotta love them Trillium 5500's!

Cheers, Jake.
