It was called to my attention of some very troubling activity. After checking the logs, I discovered a pattern of abuse.
As you all know, we have the ability to post photos with our discussions. Although this is a great benefit to us all, it also adds a tremendous amount of cost through its use of storage and bandwidth. It turns out that our site was being used by one of our members (who is the owner of another website) to host a large number of his photos, which he then links to his site. This uses up our resources and jeopardizes the health of our site. Unfortunately, he has not contributed anything to the cost of maintaining the extra bandwidth and he is less than complimentary when discussing our forum on his site. This is not the first time we have had to deal with abuse from this member and his other website.
So what should we do to deal with this problem? We feel he has much to offer and hope that this can be worked out. I have asked him to email me in hopes we can work out our differences. Until then I have removed the offending posts and limited his access.
