Thanks for sharing this Rick, I didn't know there was an earlier BF logo before the scary running one. The trailer looks very similar to our 2003 17 footer, the 25th anniversary edition.
Yes Tony I was in my campground in Hope Bc Canada. And when I see a Bigfoot like my grandkids I go giddy. So go check it out and I find this Logo. Bigfoots first plant was in Vernon Bc . Logo was a big hit at the BOCI rally this year . Oh yeh r u a member. Also Bigfoot had the same mold for the 17 ft from 1978 to I think 2004. They were all goucho models then they had the center bath. The same is with the 21 ft mold came out in 93-94 and still the same in 2015 except the newer ones have 15" wheels. This years rally is in Osyoos Bc in second week in September. They also made the 17 ft in a Spirit Wing model off white color and deluxe inside. I should post pics of many different Bigfoots of old.Ie Oakland's, The Silver Cloud a 28ft trailer, old 17 and 19 ft fifth wheels,28 ft fifth wheels the Japanese models the Armstrong and the Vernon. Columbia Rivers, the ,2000 series ,22,24 and 27 ft it molded but fibercore wall systems. and the last 24 ft and 28 ft 3000 series. Made in 2008. Anyway could go on forever I love the Bigfoot brand and m so very happy that they are in business again. Rick.
No they made a 21 ft and 24 ft class C they were called The Vernon and they also made. B class 17 and 19 ft as The Armstrong. In Japan all the Rv doors and awnings are on the drivers side. I m using my cell . When I get home I will post some pics from my home computer. Rick
Thanks for the post. The subject of when the first Bigfoot was produced, and this early logo, came up in a thread I started awhile back. You may be interested in it.
These Class C and B class were designed in the Bigfoot plant for the Japan Market . Also have many more pics of lots of older Bigfoots. Notice on The Bc Vernon all doors and awning are on the driver side.
No it was a 17 ft but i m so used to 17.5 I dont know why they changed it 1978 to 2004 same mold but somehow it grew .5
Just Maybe, only guessing, about this question but: In as much as the 2500 series gained a lot of weight over the 1500, when they changed the length to 17.5', maybe they also changed to a heavier and maybe again, a slightly longer frame, the tongue to bumper may have grown 6" without the coach changing size?????

Just before I found a screaming deal on a Trillium 4500, I was ready to pull the trigger on a Bigfoot 19'. Loved the layout, and the look.

Yes they got heavier because they went from a 1500 model to a 2500 model much more insulation, bbut not really just much fancier inside. I did some reno's on my 1999 21 ft I took the bathroom door off, Wow it is a solid door. they were all 17 ft from 1978 till 2004 Then the mold changed and they became 17.5 in 2005 also became all four season. As also a little bit heavier. As for The history Of Bigfoot I know it all, But it does not only deal with the trailers , this is how the motor homes started,also the 2000 and 3000 series trailers,all made by Bigfoot,but designed with the Fibercore Wall system. I have all the history but I don't know if is the website to put it on. Trust me it is very interesting.
Your probably right, it may not be the right site as this site is geared to molded units and not fiberglass panel construction of any kind. From past member posts, it doesn't seem like there is much interest in any stick built units no matter what name is on it.
I disagree. The "History of Bigfoot" would be VERY interesting to me, even if it includes the fibercore models. It's not like we're discussing "how to" topics that fall outside of the community's expertise. This is about the history of a major player in the molded fiberglass towable world, which I think would be interesting to almost any BF owner. I say "Bring it on Rick!"
We recently purchased a 1979 Bigfoot 17' and it has the same original logo. Unfortunately ours is quite faded but after we get further along in our renovation I am going to try to get a replica made. I much prefer it to the modern logo.
