First camping trip with the grandkid

Best wishes for a safe and happy Memorial Day to everyone

We're heading out on Tuesday for a week at Cape Hatteras National Seashore and our daughter, SIL and granddaughter will be joining us on Thursday. Its Mary Miller's (19 months old) inaugural camping trip and also her first visit to the ocean; Can't wait to turn her loose in the warm shallow waters on the sound side. The logistics are still up in the air but I expect Cindy and I may end up in one of our tents when the kids arrive. I actually still enjoy sleeping on the ground; just takes me a little longer to get up and down these days.

We'll be staying at the NPS Frisco campground south of Buxton - if anyone is in the area, please stop by.

Years ago when I first started backpacking I asked a very active older gentleman (who was younger than I am now) how he kept fro getting sore and achy when sleeping on the ground He smiled at me and said "2 aspirin at bedtime".


I found that to be wise advice.
