First snow!!

Last night and today we had the first measureable amount of rain at my home in over a year.
It also snowed at the higher levels.
I guess I'm crazy, but I loaded up my machine headed up the hill in a light rain and unloaded at a FS unimproved road about 3 miles from my home.

The pics are about 10 miles up the road and close to 6000'.
I rode about another 8 miles up to the 8000'evel and had to stop as the snow was freezing to the clear visor on my helmet and it was difficult seeing where I was going.
The area I was riding is normally under 4 or 5 feet of snow and closed by Thanksgiving.
For the last 2 years there was so little snow the FS didn't bother to close the area.

Surprisingly, it snowed in Columbia, SC today. Some places got 2" and it was the earliest snow in the states history by 8 days. Hope this is not how the season is going to go. We like our warm winters down south!
