There is a similar photo which shows up in this forum occasionally with a fiberglass egg (I assume this one is aluminum on wood framing), although I think that one has the egg (maybe a Scamp 13') on the upper level.

We laugh at most of these, but it actually makes some sense to me. Rather than having a normal houseboat and using only occasionally, park a travel trailer on a pontoon boat for lake visits, and have the trailer to use on the road the rest of the year! The one in the photo looks more permanent (no wheels), so it may have been a way to use a trailer with a dead chassis.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

Ron I found this pic on the ISLAND BOLERS web site [vancouver island can]
about amonth ago and posted it on this forum under the heading cruising on
a budget. I dont know any history of the pic like, who ,where ,when, I tried
blowing it up and get some idea of where, no luck . It looks more like a canal
than a river , we have no canals here on the island and our rivers look nothing
like that nor do our trees look like them. I hope the hammock she is sitting in
is anchored well and not tippy . I like bag for keeping her clothes pegs in and
the twig on top that looks like a fishing pole . How does she see where she is
going, sure looks like stress free living. any one have any ideas.

Here's one of the Scamp Yacht, which also has the running gear dismounted:

Over on the Teardrops Forum, the origin of this 'caravan' (trailer) became apparent when one of the members from Finland thought of buying one. It's a Swedish SMV trailer, probably a SMV 10. In this photo, it's actually travelling tail first and so the door is on the left side. This means that serious sleuths (or useless fact hoarders) will be able to tell that it's a 1967 or older model, as it was in 1967 that Sweden switched from driving on the left to the right.

So this isn't a Hillbilly Floating Palace, as I think it got previously named, but a Scanwegian Double-decker River Cruiser.
