I’m guessing it’s a conventional (non-molded) trailer with a fiberglass skin. I did wonder the same.

Actually, it stands for Some Other Brand. Many Escape owners would recognize this acronym.

Floyd's New Ranger

Private conversation going on here, and apparently I’m late to the party. Yes, SOB is FGRV code for a non-molded trailer. In this case the oxymoronic “FG SOB” means something else the poster chooses not to share.

Moving on...

So, how much will it take to pry your hands off that old Ranger's steering wheel? Will $500 do it? I'm always up for a well-maintained bargain. Pictures needed, of course...
Put a "For Sale" sign in the window Friday.
Asked $4000.
Showed it Saturday afternoon.
Sold it Monday!

Congratulations, Floyd! A nice price for a nice looking truck. Not quite the bargain I was hoping for, alas.

The promise for now is May-17, but Ford has apparently biased production toward dealer stock and high end four doors at the expense of customer orders.

Hard to say, but if so it is bad business.

What do we know? The world now belongs to Millennials with a whole new set of values.

It was delivered this past Wednesday, and we took delivery on Thursday.
It is apparently flawless and exceeds our expectations for appearance and quality.
It has more ground clearance than its predecessor and I couldn't fine a draw bar with quite enough drop... 8" will do for now.
Also I will use a Hopkins Insight brake controller since I can find no good location for a P3.
The truck and I are still getting acquainted, there is a learning curve for both of us but it is going well.
I am doing a few essential mods and accessories, then I hope to do some pictures.

I see your point... Actually it is repainted with bedliner material which has proven very durable. It is 18YO and has served us well.

Gosh, I'm honored that you are posting the news on this "mangled thread" I started!

We saw one in the same color parked in front of a dealership in Tillamook, Oregon back in April, but we were in the middle of a fairly long towing day so didn't turn around for a closer peek.

So, I'll look forward to future posts and seeing and learning more here than that exercise could have accomplished.

By the way, it's spring; roll the windows down, that new-truck smell is pretty potent stuff!

Very good Floyd, glad your wait is over. Totally understand about the P3 location. When I looked at the new Ranger I never even thought about that as I was checking out all the rest of the interior features. BTW, I like the getting acquainted with it comment, very appropriate for the new breed of vehicles.

Got ours 3 weeks ago

We too have been in a holding pattern for our new ranger but now have and it was worth the wait. Love it but still working where to put brake control. Took out Casita for short ride without and no problems but will not go without on a trip. For the first time we had questions about the ranger and not the trailer!!!
Congratulations Floyd excellent choice in TV!!!

Congratulations Floyd , I hope your new Ranger serves you as well as your old one did . From what I’ve read you made a good , educated choice . IMHO
I can see a day in near future where Ford is the leader in the midsize truck market .

Are you keeping that plastic on the seats? Just wondering. Very snazzy truck.

That picture is twenty minutes off the transport.
Someone stole my clear plastic seat covers during dealer prep and gave me some really neat paper floor mats in their place!
Did you know that the final engine control program is also now downloaded during dealer prep? It comes in in what is called "Transport Mode" and also with 50PSI in the tires to protect the truck for transport.
