Some friends of ours have something like this, to me it seems like a lot of bother but they love it.
You need to stake it down in heavy winds or it topples over.

April, just like pjanits I think they would be a lot of work, but everyone I know who have similar ones(rv'ers to tenter's) Love it. A couple people I know who have them, have the one with the sink built in.

We have a similar one from Crappy tire. If you are camping for more than a day and you cook outside it's worth the 5 minutes to set it up - generally I find it too hard on my back doing dishes on a picnic table and there isn't enough space to do dishes and cook in the same area.

Actually it's just because I'm basically lazy and have no room in the 13'. Maybe if get a bigger trailer( read more storage) this might happen, like I said our friends just love it.
But then again maybe not as we are just getting into dutch oven cooking. Time or a really great sale will tell.

I have one too. I actually took it apart to use the sink in the Play Pac.
Here's a shot:
Great looking kitchen, yes? The remainder of the 'counter' is going to be sea glass grouted onto wood pieces shaped to fill out the space. Should make it colourful and not weigh too much. All the wood parts will be primed and painted before installation.
Yes, that's inside my house. Yes, it's a lot warmer than the garage and the dogs don't care.

We have a plastic version from tent/car camping days. I like that one better because of the wind shield. Our Coleman campstove is a "lite line" which means it has almost no wind screen. It works great in our friends' guest house, but is lousy at a picnic table. Something like this would be helpful.

We have the China Tire one too, modded on the stove end with a roll up aluminum table top. And we will upgrade when this one dies. Hopefully someone will have adjustable legs for uneven ground by then.

April,
The outdoor kitchen looks great. Just a thought... We have two little aluminum folding tables from Wally world (total, $30.) A portable gas grill that sits on one table, and connects to the trailer LP for gas. A dishpan that fits the kitchen sink, and the table for al fresco cleanup. Setup time for my al fresco kitchen, five minutes or so. Minimal storage. Multiple uses. The aluminum tables are also stand tables or dining tables. A little Coleman type burner would also fit on either table, but we tend to use the camper stove or a campfire for the rest of our cooking.

I looked at a real nice one at 'Bass Pro Shops'. It folds up like a big suitcase but is a bit expensive. A portable stove with removable legs and the table from inside placed on the outside of the trailer work great.

Just seems like another minimally useful bulky item to schlog around. Looks good in the show room, but they're tippy and if the ground isn't perfectly flat, it's a real pain to get situated. The good old campsite picnic table works just fine for me, and if there isn't one, I also have a small aluminum folding table that covers my needs for an outdoor horizontal surface. Unless you're planning to cook for the entire campground, I can't see any justifiable need for this thing, and believe me...I'm the original "gotta havit" gadget guy.

Wow, we have the Cabela's one, and on the longer trips we use the heck out of it! Truly a "different strokes for different folks" deal with this one. Mind you, our situation is: lots of kids (lots of food prep), usually large festivals with no picnic table availability, and we share it with our fellow camping family. We also use a big shelter which we lash it to, elminating wind issues. I particularly like the hanging zippered, shelved pantries, and the upper eye-level shelf and the hooks (notice the hanging pan behind my head). We love the dish rack below the center table too. And see how the paper towel roll has it's own little home? (opposite the hanging pan).
But yeah, it is heavy/bulky...if it were just me and the wife over the weekend, no way.
