For Pet Lovers

I know there are lots of dog lovers in our group who will appreciate this video of Jimmy Stewart reading a poem about his dog Beau on the Johnny Carson Show. Get a tissue! It's really worth a look.

You were right, Lisa. I did need the tissue.

I also miss Jimmy Stewart and Johnny Carson.

I'm glad this poem has been appreciated. I lost my 19 year old cat in Sept. and an 18 year old Sheltie in November so know quite well the sentiments Mr. Stewart expressed in his poem.

But on a lighter note, I'm adding a new collie to my family soon. The boys and I are waiting for her to get out of heat so she can be spayed and then I can bring her home. In the meantime, I'm readying the house for a new GIRL. . . my first in 25 years. I feel like I'm preparing for the arrival of a new baby with all the girlie fabric I've purchased to make beds, blankets, and bandanas. I'm having a blast! If you want to see a photo of my gorgeous new collie-girl, look under "Available Collies" at "Miley" on the Southland Collie Rescue site.

Give all your fur-kids a hug for me!
Lisa

Hi Lisa

You are so lucky... and Miley will be so loved in your home. She is beautiful. I know you just can't wait to bring her to her fancy home. Jerry, our cat, hopes she loves cats.

Yes, Miley does love cats and Rascal is extremely glad that she does! By the way, the little formerly nameless Pomeranian that I rescued a year ago last October and brought to Lake Casitas is now known as "Theodore Rompompoulus." Rascal outweighs Theo by about 2 pounds but Theo still thinks he is in charge of everyone in the house.

Jerry will have 3 to love now. Miley, Rascal and Theodore. Cute family. Plan on coming to Lake Casitas again this year, if you can.

We'll try to come if we can but Rascal is not a traveler. Hopefully Shamus, my big collie boy, will still be around to enjoy the trip again.
