For The Woodturners NOT fiberglass

I know that many folks here do some beautiful work with wood....thanks for all the pictures......some of you might also do some wood work on a wood lathe. My DH does all kinds of wood work, today he found this You Tube from a Canadian wood turner that made his own lathe....he said I should post it for him, before he builds one for himself, in hopes that some of our good Canadian friends could give him some helpful hints on the best way to build and use it.

I don't think finding parts will be to hard for him,but he is not much on welding so that will be a biggie. Anyway after watch this let us know IF any of you have a rig like this one.Would like to hear how it works for you....

Western plow makes a swell tool rest. Maybe a bit hard on the back. Hope he's confining himself to scraping or he might find that chisel handle sticking out his backside.

Give him some credit; he actually is slicing with his "pipe" gouge. Face in a bad place if he blows that blank. His truck wheel faceplate looks a tad eccentric but who needs precision when all you're after is a trip to emergency.

If a roll or two of duct tape were also involved, I'd say this could be straight from the Red Green show!

My hubby, the woodturner, rolled his eyes and then averted them!
