Now I am a believer. Actually, I have never disbelieved, but have had no concrete proof until today.

I bought a breakaway collar for my adolescent cat the other day as he has outgrown his kitten collar.

It is sized correctly, not too loose, not too tight. It will adjust as he grows.

He came in today without it. I thought at first I may have not had it adjusted incorrectly and he pulled it off.

I went outside to do some work and found this.

There are claw marks on the wood around it, so he did struggle a bit, but the thing did it's job.

Was worth the extra buck over the plain one, I'd say.

Phew - thank goodness Wilson was able to free himself instead of being snagged indefinitely! That breakaway collar does sound like money well spent! LdB

Our female kitten hooked hers on the wine rack a couple weeks ago and was able to "break away" from it without hurt. The next day I went out and bought one for Gatsby too. They cost a bit more but it is better than coming home and finding one of them hanging from something.

I am glad that you found it. Looks like his microchip ID tag is attached to the collar.

yes. Thats another "Good Thing". Pets lose their collars, but the chip stays put.

There is also a tag with his cell phone # on it, er.. MY cell phone #.

My turn. These two pictures - Gatsby jumped into Kevin's briefcase and fell in. Sunday, a parent delivered 3 stacks of blankets that Kevin and I will be taking out to Pine Ridge reservation (We are taking them in the UHaul. We are making the UHaul a kissing cousin to today's UHauls.). The kittens had a great time playing hide n' seek among the stacks. And Toulouse too.
