found an old boler....

Found an old boler sitting in the weeds for $300. What is the best way to drag it home...it had been sitting for 15 years....might be a perfect first restoration project....

You might just be able to tow it. How far do you have to go?
I checked the frame, tires and lights on mine that had been sitting 15 years and towed it home 8+ hours.

Any chance it might be a boler American?

I think there is a very good chance it's a boler american....i think the tow home would be 2 to 3 hours.... looks like it is sitting pretty low....tires might be flat...can not tell from the pic....i assume you look for rust on the frame?....anything else? Do not know that i can get under it very well....might go up and pay for it and worry about getting it home later.....

Take out AAA insurance with the RV coverage, then have it flat bedded home.

Seriously, if the tires / bearings are sketchy, I'd have it flat bedded or rent a car trailer and move it on that.

That is a good price!
When I pick up a trailer, I bring wheels, magnetic break lights and an infra-red thermometer to check bearing temps as I drive, (your hand works too). Check to be sure you have the correct ball size, or bring a 2" and a 1-7/8" ball. Don't forget a wrench large enough to change the ball.

Not sure what the bolt pattern on a Boler is, but 5 bolt on 4.5" is common.

If the bearings get hot, let them cool off before proceeding.

So, Cricket, does this mean you didn't get the newer Scamp either? Are you still eggless? Been reading all you posts. I'm pullin' for ya!
