Google is your friend :-)
"Frakkin" is slang for the process of hydraulic or chemical (explosive) "fracturing" the underground beds which hold crude oil, to enable the oil to be more easily removed.
"The Bakken" refers to a very large petroleum field in North America, which is proposed to be "fracked" and which will supposedly enlarge the North American oil reserves by an enormous amount.
There! I have now told you way more than I know. ;-)

Hi: Cyndi B...CBC TV (Canadian eh!!!) did a very funny skit about this term. My bro-'n-law lives in Bakersfield Ca. and is big in oil there. He told me it has to do with getting more oil out of the shale stone. Wish I had the link to share.

Yep, heard of it The Bakken Formation is an area in western North Dakota & eastern Montana that contains oil. It has boomed there in the past 3-4 years. Bakken Formation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I actually own some mineral acres in that area, but no oil wells yet. However, I'm hoping for a miracle one of these days.

Dale, I hope you find enough oil to become the world's first trillionare. If that happens I figure the price of gas will go down to $1 per gallon and I can pull my Bigfoot more.

Thanks Bruce. LOL! If I were to become a trillionare, I'll be sure to share some the fellow fiberglass owners.

My husband got to spend a little less then a year working as Director of Saftey for an oil well service company in eastern Montana. North Dakota, being more oil drilling friendly, is going boom. No housing. These roust-a-bouts and pipe layers are living in camping trailers and flea bag motels. We were lucky to get the apartment we did. When my husband got the position we thought he would be able to pull our then 13' Scamp out there and camp for the summer. NOT! Their idea of a campground was a gravel lot and an electic hookup, no biffy or showers, skirting and heat tape required if you're staying the winter. And you move the trailer to get rid of the poo. In comes the blue poo hauler or sucker saving service. Comical behind the Jeep, hoping it doesn't fail on the way to the poo disposal site. Wouldn't want to clean that up. Now that the price of oil has gone up, all the wells will be pumping. Even the little ones. My husband misses Montana. His dream state to live in eventually just not that side.

Hi: All...What will oil be worth when every vehicle is like a Chevy Volt and electricity is all produced from renewable resources???

Alf: Would the campgrounds like the MH's electric toads hooked up to the site for the same price charging?

The Montana anthem:
When it's Springtime in Montana, and it's 42 below,
The eskimos go barefoot in fourty feet of snow.....
That's all I remember of it.... I moved to California in 1954, in my Junior year of High School ;-)

I hadn't heard of it till this thread, then caught T. Boone Pickens on John Stewart's Daily show. Check out the interview from 1/27/2010: http://www.thedailyshow.com/
It looks like we could power our tugs with natural gas for years to come.
