We got that cover on just in time for a very snowy winter. I am glad to report that we unzipped the Calmark door yesterday and got in #006. Everything was fine, so we removed a few dryer sheets, put a few more around inside, and sealed her back up. Won't be long (I hope!) before we take the cover off and air this baby out!

Late yesterday afternoon our new 2013 Escape (factory tow package with 3500# capacity) is now capable of towing #006. With oneford (Daniel)'s help, I had done everything but the brake wire hook up. Finally got it to my buddy's garage last night and presto zippo, done! Now all I need to do is get plates for #006, and get movin!

006 came out today, cover off, and time to get ready for spring!

Here the Escape was not hooked up but plugged in to check the 7 pin connector. Everything works great.

Afterwards I set one of our ball mounts up for the proper height (reversing the ball on the ball mount I used for 006 with the F-150) for the Escape. It is my intent to use the Escape as our primary TV.

I hope y'all are having a wonderful Easter, Passover, and just a great day. Nice and sunny here today, a pleasure after a particularly brutal winter.

I'd say it's time to go camping.

Yes, time to go camping, but a few details remain.

This came in day before yesterday, and works great. Thanks to whoever suggested this!

I just came in for a break from washing the entire thing. Even with a cover on it, it was very dirty. I wanted to wash it last year when we got it, but the weather caught us unprepared. My goal today is to get the top waxed.

Tomorrow I need to get a yard or so of some 1/2" or 3/4" aluminum strap to make top to bottom braces for the microwave shelf. Someone suggested that earlier and I disagreed. After thinking about it, he was right. I have it braced much better than it was before the microwave took the big tumble, but more bracing is better. I have a new microwave in an unopened factory box here that needs to be installed, and that will take some time.

I need to torque the lug nuts, check tire pressure, and get my travelling kit together for on-road repair and service. We leave for Gibsonville May 17.

I'm gonna go wax.

Since you'll kinda be in the neighborhood you might want to follow Hucks lead. Just a thought.

Thanks for the tip P. Raz. We've vacationed up and down the East Coast, and most all of NC's coast, but never the Outer Banks. While #006 is at it's birthplace for the week, we rented a condo over on the Outer Banks. I will check out Huck's stuff later tonight. Looks like a good thread.

Good for you. Be aware, the further south you go on route 12, the further back in time you go. You'll see what I mean. Enjoy, Raz

New microwave install

Last microwave took a flight bringing 006 home last September. ParkLiner replaced the microwave (and sent me a new stovetop), which I was very pleased about. Today I re-installed the microwave in a way I trust will not fail again. Basically I added two front support straps, 1/8" thick aluminum 3/4" wide, through bolted on top and screwed into the bottom of the plywood support shelf.

Nice solution, Frank. Unobtrusive and you should never have a problem with that shelf again.

Thanks folks! Got to clean up from drilling fiberglass, do a bit of wiring, and wrap this job up. Got the roof waxed, but think it needs a second coat. Got about 60% of the sides waxed, bit more to go there, but need it to stop raining when I have time for this stuff! Gail is working on our queen size sleeping bag. She got the two long zippers done on the two queen size quilts, and maybe sewed the ends, but I'm not sure. Next is finding some sheets she likes and adapting them to the new bag. I think all that entails is sewing across the bottoms, and stuffing it in the quilt "bag". Need to get plates for it today so Gail can take it out for a test drive with the Escape. Still need to re-install the batteries, and get ready for the big trip down to NC in a few weeks.
