Free Campground books/guides?

hi everyone--
i've spent a lot of time in the archives here and i have learned a lot!
now i have a question . . . we are headed on the road for the next 6 months or so (yippee!), driving around the country--we have taken a few short trips but no long ones.
we are trying to be veeery frugal and i've looked online at the free camping guides . . . do any of you have these? i just thought i would ask for some suggestions and see which ones you found most helpful.
these are the ones i'm considering--
Don Wright's books:
Guide to Free Campgrounds (both Eastern and Western Editions)
Camping on a Shoestring
See America Free
and also, Chuck Woodbury's Free Campgounds (sold on www.freecampgrounds.com)
we will be doing some quick overnights at travel centers, Wal-Marts, etc, but i'm willing to buy a few books to make life easier.
thanks for ANY help you can offer!
Michelle
and the rescued dogs (Caspian, Yoda and Phoenix)

Free Camping

Michelle, I can't be of much help to you, but it sure sounds like you are in for a great time.

Hopefuly there will be others who pop on that will help you with what your looking for. It sounds to me like you have a great start.

If there's any way that you can, I hope you will check in with us from the road. I'd love to know how it's going.

Welcome to the board. Have fun on your great adventures :wave

Free Campground Books

:wave
Michelle, we have found that most State Welcome Centers have free booklets of free parks. I know Texas and Arkansas do. Might give it a try.

Have fun,
