I thought all days were free entrance days. Oh! I guess that just because I'm old and my old guy's card.
I hope those that don't have the old guys card take advantage of this.

I took my family to the Everglades National Park several years back and didn't even think about the government "shutdown" due to budget passing failures. We drove up to the entrance and it was a scene out of Chevy Chase's movie where he goes to "Wally World" - closed up tight. Just a "closed" sign hanging on the gate. Oh well, we spent a little more time in Key West instead.

I get an annual Interagency Pass for $80 that lets us into any for-pay national wildlife refuges, national parks, and national forests. Pretty handy.

Campers are supposed to have until 6 PM Monday to vacate the parks if there is a shutdown.
