I've seen this before.
Like Deryk, I'd like to have one too.

The topper would be to put on the aftermarket Rolls Royce hood (well, trunk really in those old bugs).

Years ago Popular Mechanics Magazine sold the plans on how to build a similar VW minimotorhome. I talked to an builder/owner of one here in Riverside some years back and he said that it was little more than a showpiece. With a 40hp motor it couldn't make even 50 MPH and the inside was more like a telephone booth (remember those?) than a motorhome, but that someone always wanted to buy it from him.

That one is either in a RHD country or the image is flipped.

At least it has a good storage place for the water hose, electric cord, wheel chocks, etc.

That was my thoughts also.

Put all hoses, spare, etc. in the front trunk.

Ooops, I stand corrected, it appears that the builder wanted the door on the "wrong" side on purpose.

I still think its a neat idea....probably on a super beatle with the larger engine....now imagine it on ranger or small pickup truck. Not big like the 20' something smaller. Would be fun to build!

they are cute. i was inside one back in ~1975 or so...U R right, not much more than a tele.booth but for a single person on the cheap it would do the trick if not claustrophobic.

PS. i just followed the link...i had one of those powder blue leisure suits! LOL
