Frustration. Chilly in Backus

Our new Scamp 13 is finished and waiting in Backus. But its 30 below there this weekend and only rises to 10 degrees on our Wednesday pick up day. Needless to say we won't be camping nearby to check out the systems. I guess we are just wussies. Any tips on cold weather towing?

Can they not hook up water and stuff inside the factory. Then drain and winterize before you go? I would think with their cold weather climate they would have something set up for checking things out in the winter before you buy. IMO

I agree, Scamp has been doing this for 40 some years, they should have a system in place to allow you to check out a trailer before delivery in weather that they see every year.

It's not like it's a surprise to them......

Wussies? For not camping? I don't think so.

My biggest concern would be damage due to road salt. Especially to the brakes.

Wear your woolies and keep it on the road. Oh yeah, don't forget we like pictures Raz

I am looking at getting a new one too. Don't plan on a pickup before late April. Weather no better here in ND.
Has anyone noticed any sales there this time of year?

Thanks for your advice folks. I think I will postpone my trip North til the temps get above freezing anyway. And P. Raz I will take your advice and try real hard to keep between the ditches. Its a long trip anyway, no need to delay waiting on a tow truck. Pics to follow if I survive.

BTW Gene, my Scamp salesman says they never have sales these days. But that's what I would say to any hot prospect. He did tell me he would sell me a 2014 for the 2013 price, claimed I would save 3 or 4 hundred dollars. It was a good buying experience altogether and I felt fairly treated. I bargained much harder and successfully for my Subaru.

Best 2014 to all. John
